Questions? Your answer may well be below, if not please do not hesitate to email us.

Is renting a private apartment the same as staying in a hotel?
Thankfully not, you eat what you want, when you want. On the other hand there is no daily maid service - you do your own cleaning up.

Is there a cleaning service payable on departure?
Normally renters leave the apartment in the good clean order that they find it, in which case there is no charge. If you wish to pay for a cleaning service on your departure then that can normally be arranged (excluding dishwashing).

Are basic things like shower gel, tea, coffee included?
No, but there's a little shop open till late for those urgent items just across the street!

What time do the shops nearby close?
Typically 7 p.m, some later.  Watch out for midday, a lot will close for 2 hours for lunch in line with french tradition. Also you may find local shops closed sunday/sunday afternoon so if you are arriving suday think of bringing essential items with you.

Are there windows in the apartment and is there a view?
Two large traditional windows in the living area. No view (they look out on to a security glass covered internal courtyard, giving the benefit of quiet despite being in central Paris)

Is the apartment building typically cute?
Frankly the entrance is not well lit and the communal paintwork could be better. These items are paid for by agreement by all tenants - given the costs of living in Paris  it is difficult to improve it quickly and we french tend to economise on such things as powerful lighting!

Is the street busy and noisy?
Rue St Honoré is a narrow street with, for Paris, not much traffic. You will find locals mixing with tourists, it is a residential area as well - Parisians do tend to talk relatively loudly though and to start with that can take a little getting used to if you don't understand much french! The Apartment does not face onto the street, so nght and traffic noise should not disturb you.

Can I rent a car?
Don't! Paris has good public and travel services and is not suitable for travelling about by car when on holiday.

Do I need to book for restaurants?
The dearer they are, the more likely is your need to book in advance! Some close on sunday and/or monday nights - check the times on the doors and don't hesitate to go in and ask, the majority will be able to speak some English.

Is the buiding and area "safe"?
A security entry code to get in to the courtyard, guardienne normally present, buiding entrance locked, apartment door of course lockable - so, I'd say yes!  It is a city, pickpockets and such like are not unheard of, particularly in the busy tourist areas like the Champs Elysées - so normal caution advice prevails without needing to be overly paranoid! Personally I've never seen a problem in the area other than an unwise cyclist falling off his bike!

Does the apartment have a phone?
There is a phone in the apartment, for incoming calls only.

Is there service 24/7?
You will be welcomed by the Guardienne, however renting a private apartment is not like a hotel, no all night service! You can call us or speak to the Guardienne in the event of queries etc but please, respect our sleeping hours!

Is there Internet and english language TV channels?
A connection yes, but no computer. CNN and similar on the TV but not much else in the way of English channels.
